Project Partners

CBM

In July 2012 the Pacific Disability Forum and CBM signed a memorandum of understanding. The primary focus of this agreement is building the capacity of the Pacific Disability Forum and its members, particularly in the area of Disability Inclusive Development.

CBM will also provide Pacific Disability Forum staff and members with training and mentoring in Disability Inclusive Development, as well as providing technical expertise in this area as needed. The ultimate goal of this partnership is to ensure Disabled People’s Organisations in the Pacific are empowered to represent themselves in development discussions.

This memorandum includes the establishment of a Disability inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction Network for Asia and Pacific (DiDRRN). This network includes the Pacific Disability Forum and CMB plus Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, Centre for Disability in Development, Handicap International, Malteser International and the South Asian Disability Forum.

The DiDRRN’s main objective is to contribute to greater participation and inclusion of persons with Disabilities in post 2015 development and disaster risk reduction.
