The Pacific Disability Forum (PDF) is a regional peak body on disability and works in partnership with Disabled Persons Organisations (DPOs) in the Pacific region.

Our aim is to build the capacity of these organisations and improve the lives of persons with disabilities in the Pacific through advocacy.
An exciting opportunity now exists for a well-qualified and experienced individual to join the Pacific Disability Forum as its Director Operations.


 

The Director Operations is responsible for providing oversight of all programmes including emergency response, gender, youth, DPO and inclusive development, policy, research and finance and corporate services for the Pacific Disability Forum. The position reports directly to the CEO and will be responsible for driving and achieving the following critical outcomes for the organisation:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in MS Office suite, Google suite, project management software, financial and database packages

  • Proven senior experience in monitoring and evaluation of program activities and donor reporting

  • A Degree in Humanities and/or Social Science

  • Proper management of member and stakeholder support through advocacy, research, projects and initiatives

  • Support the unit through an improvement in member and stakeholder service levels

  • Efficient management of finance and corporate services Effective oversight of the Finance unit, financial reports provided and analysed with donor funding utilisation monitored as required and support training for all staff and PDF capabilities identified (succession planning)

  • Program systems and support Ensure the development, review, approval and compliant monitoring reports for donors
    PDF effectively represented in public forums and relevant internal & external stakeholder meeting effectively led as required by the CEO
    Leadership and contribution to the development of disability policy and practice

  • Effectively managing programs Ensure the program team delivers the desired outcomes and objectives, identification of funding risks and funding utilised effectively
    Program Framework is developed, implemented and is compliant with PDF and donor policy management
    Program brief and papers for project funding are reviewed and provision of program assistance

  • The person we seek will have a postgraduate qualification in development studies, advocacy/ communications, minimum 5 years’ experience in program management in the public, private and disability sector with demonstrated experience in a representational role.
