To All Participants Representing National DPOs at the PDF Institutional Strengthening Training Workshop in Nadi, Fiji Next Week

Bula to you all.

1. By now, you should have received your e-ticket to travel to Nadi, Fiji within the next few days. We are expecting all participants to arrive by Sunday, 14/12/08. Please check for the Tokatoka Resort transport when you clear immigration/customs section and enter into the arrival area so that you can be taken over to the hotel. If a ground/airline staff is assisting you, ask him/her to take you to the Tokatoka Resort shuttle service which should be waiting for you as they have already been given your flight arrival details.

2. There are two documents attached to this mail which require your attention and cooperation.

2.1 The provisional programme for the week; 15-19 December 2008. If you can recall, the programme will focus on two main activities: the development of the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework for PDF which includes the updating of the PDF 2007-2011 Strategic Plan; and the presentation/discussion of the Pacific DPO Fund or the small grants scheme which PDF will implement next year with funding from NZAID.

2.2 An information sheet entitled "DPO Fund Workshop" outlining the objectives and some tasks for you to do in your country with your respective DPOs before leaving for Fiji this week, in relation to the Pacific DPO Fund (small grants scheme) component of the training programme planned for Thursday and Friday next week. This task which you must do in consultation with your DPO is very important and is clearly explained in the attached document.

3. The PDF Executive Committee together with the PDF staff will be holding a governance meeting including an ExCo in-person meeting on Saturday, 13/12/08 and Sunday, 14/12/08 prior to the starting of the week-long training workshop.

4. As requested by the PDF Information Officer, Soloveni Vitoso, some of you will need to bring along with you your completed survey questionnaire which Solo has already sent you by post as well as email.

5. As a friendly reminder, some of you may wish to bring along your organisation's membership fee for the current year (2008-09) if your organisation hasn't paid, or any arrears for that matter. The membership fee is FJ$50.00 per year, and if you are not sure whether your organisation has paid up its membership fee, please send an email to the Accounts Officer, Parnesh Goundar on address accounts@pacificdisability.org and he will attend to your queries.

6. When arriving into the Tokatoka Resort hotel, visit the front desk and ask for your room reservation under the booking "PDF." Your room has been reserved, and depending on your access needs, some of you have been booked on accessible rooms which are not many.

Finally, we wish you all a safe journey from your country to Nadi.

Blessings.
